The Wedding Diary tells the story of a couple, Daniel and Tina (played by Aniu & Elanne Kwong respectively) who decides to get hitched. Daniel is an engineer working in Singapore, who comes from a humble Hokkien Malaysian family, while his wife-to-be Tina, comes from a well-to-do Cantonese Singaporean family. What follows the happy decision to tie the knot is a series of problems involving both families – the disparity in perceived wealth and the countless differences between Singaporean and Malaysian, Hokkien and Cantonese cultures, such that preparations for the wedding almost come to a standstill. In a show of sincerity and commitment to his demanding parents-in-law to be, Daniel agrees to hold an extravagant and lavish wedding banquet in Singapore.

On the wedding day, Daniel discovers that most of the red packets he has planned to use to foot the bill have gone missing! Out of desperation, he heads to the nearby casino to try his luck and ends up losing more money. As he makes up one lie after another to cover up his problems, Tina starts to have suspicions about his fidelity and honesty. He quarrels with his father over the wedding arrangements and in a pique, his father leaves Singapore only to meet with a car accident on the way back to Penang. The happiest day in Daniels life is suddenly unfolding into what could be the most depressing or is it?

The movie was quite depressing. T_T Made me realise how many things can go wrong during a wedding. Although the movie is quite exaggerated, but still….

I also thought the movie was quite lame…and I don’t know if it is just me, but A-niu’s teeth were soooo distracting!! I never realised his teeth was *that* bad. Or maybe I’ve just become a teeth snob after putting on braces. T_T Because I find crooked teeth really distracting.

After the movie, we went for dinner at Xin Wang. Mr Toh joined us after he got off work.

On Sunday 19/02, I went with Mommy and my cousin and aunt+uncle to our respective new houses to measure the windows and calculate the price again. The price my uncle gave was cheap! But Mr Toh said we should hold off on renovating first as we still have to plan the wedding. Need to set a date! Headache ah.

The next Friday, Mr Toh was off so we went to catch a movie!

I enjoyed this movie a lot! There were some scenes that left me laughing so hard that my mouth ached and I couldn’t catch my breath! Damn hilarious! The storyline and characters were well written too. I loved Reese Witherspoon in this role, she was sooo cute! Of course the 2 leading men were very droolsome too, but I much preferred the manly Tom Hardy (who plays Puck) over the boyish Chris Pine (who played FDR). *So* charming and that voice~~*swoons*

I didn’t expect it to be very good and it surpassed my expectations! So I guess the key to an enjoyable movie is to have low expectations. Haha! Very good movie for a relaxing evening. =)

Tonight, I am meeting Mr Toh for another movie! An inspirational tale this time~
