I am Mrs Toh

7th ROM Anniversary

Posted on: April 8, 2015

Last month was our 7th ROM anniversary. Time flies like dunno what! Seriously. Has it already been 7 years?! Feels like it was just 2 or 3 years ago. =X

Anyway, since it was on a Monday, we didn’t really celebrate. But I had free GV Gold Class tickets so we decided to watch a movie on Tuesday when Mr Toh had an off day.

Professional Brooklyn hitman Jimmy Conlon is more commonly known as THE GRAVEDIGGER. Jimmy was a mob hit-man, who was best friends with his boss Sean Maguire. But when Jimmy’s son, Michael, is marked for death by the mob, Jimmy must go up against Sean to protect Michael at all costs. Together, he and Michael must avoid corrupt cops, contract killers and the mob to survive the night.

Movie was pretty OK, very exciting and I love anything with Liam Neeson in it!

We had an extremely unsatisfying dinner at Shabu Sai before that. Soups tasted just like soy sauce and the meat was not very fresh and cut WAY too thinly. Rest of the ‘buffet’ was really limited as well.

Also caught Zhong Kui on another day.

Legendary Chinese anti-hero Zhong Kui, a young man endowed with mysterious powers who is forced into a battle among the realms of Heaven, Earth and Hell in the course of his attempt to save his countrymen and the woman he loves.

Li Bingbing is gorgeous. But the movie sucksssssssss! Very bad effects and bad acting. =X Waste of our money. Mr Toh’s friend had already told him that the movie sucked but he still wanted to watch it. Oh well.

We watched Home. Requested by me as I thought the trailer was really funny and I loved that Jim Parsons was voicing the main character~~

When Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

I loved this movie! So funny and adorable!

Was at Dad’s house one weekend as they had cooked soup for me~~ Feel so loved.

Playing with baby, soo adorable! Love her so much!

31st March
I took a day off to go to JB with Mr Toh and 2 of his colleagues from overseas. Had fun shopping and eating and having a massage. So shiok.

4th March
Mr Toh’s weekend off! We decided to head to MBS for the Travel Revolution fair!

Mr Toh looking really sleepy. =X

Was feeling hungry so he brought me to Kovan to try this new dim sum stall that just opened at Hougang St 21.

Yummy liu sha bao, pork ribs and rice with chicken.

Mr Toh also ordered fish & chips which was really nice too! And we ended up being so full. T_T Always over ordering. =X

Travel fair was tiring…so much walking and comparing rates. We were thinking of a Europe trip and prices were quite reasonable. Took a break at one of the cafe facing the river and we had an ice latte and ice mocha. Shioks~

Booked tickets to catch Fast & Furious 7 at Nex later that night. We headed back and had dinner at Kabe No Ana Japanese Pasta.

This was my order, 1st taste was nice, subsequently I got sick of it. At least the clams were fresh.

Mr Toh’s mentaiko carbonara! Sounds really yummy and supposedly was their bestseller but it wasn’t very nice.

The best item was this small teriyaki chicken Mr Toh ordered. No pictures because it’s just a really small 5 inch normal looking pizza. But goodness, it was delicious! Thin crispy crust and flavourful. Yums.

Dominic Torretto and his crew thought they left the criminal mercenary life behind. They defeated an international terrorist named Owen Shaw and went their seperate ways. But now, Shaw’s brother, Deckard Shaw is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde, and a shady government official called “Mr. Nobody” are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called God’s Eye, that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God’s Eye program while caught in a power struggle between terrorist and the United States government.

Absolutely loved the movie. The show was very exciting and I loved the fight scenes! A few times, the movie made me go “Is that even possible?!” but I loved it all the same. The ending tribute to Paul Walker gave me goosebumps and made me tear. Such a beautiful ending. Definitely a must watch.

We also caught From Vegas to Macau on the 1st day of CNY with his family.

Hilarious movie. Very lame sometimes also. I don’t recall I’ve ever seen Chow Yun Fatt being so funny! Very entertaining!

On Monday, I won a pair of tickets from Twentieth Century Fox to Tuesday’s premiere of The Longest Ride at Filmgarde Bugis+. Just nice Mr Toh was off yesterday. Yay~!

Based on the bestselling novel by master storyteller Nicholas Sparks, THE LONGEST RIDE centers on the star-crossed love affair between Luke, a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia, a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke make an unexpected and fateful connection with Ira, whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire the young couple. Spanning generations and two intertwining love stories, THE LONGEST RIDE explores the challenges and infinite rewards of enduring love.

Hmmmmmmm, Scott Eastwood is dreamy as hell. I’m not that fond of the girl though. The storyline is also very different from the book, I guess they had to change it up, if not, it’d be too draggy.
Funny how when reading the book, I always looked forward to Luke & Sophia’s story but for the movie, I preferred Ira & Ruth’s story. Their story also moved me to tears in the book and I just loved the ending.

Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox for the movie tickets!
