Driving lessons

Posted on: June 10, 2014

Mr Toh had his 1st driving lesson last Sunday (08/06). Accompanied him to Ubi Driving Centre to meet the instructor. When they went off for his lesson, I stayed there to have tea and read my book. Got 2 big fat itchy mosquito bites to show for it. T_T

After his lesson, we headed to Bugis to run some errands and then to Sim Lim to look look see see. Jotting down some prices we saw.

Philips 27 inch LED monitor – $439 (IIRC)
The border around the screen was very thin and looks much nicer than the Samsung one.

Canon Powershot S120 – $525 (at Song Brothers)
Came recommended by the shop staff, took some nice pictures too. Still considering to change our camera.

We then headed back to Hougang. On our way to Little India MRT, we passed by Albert Court and saw Desmond Sim! Some actor that we’ve seen on TV. He caught us looking and smiled at us, looking a little paiseh but so handsome, so man! *swoon*

We had tea at Toast Box before making our way to Dad’s house for dinner to celebrate Keqing’s birthday before he goes for his National Service tomorrow. !! Time really flies.

On Sat, I went down to Mr Toh’s shop at closing time to meet him. Saw that there was a sneak preview of How To Train Your Dragon 2 at GV Plaza Singapura and couldn’t resist watching even though it was at 1am. =X

We went home first so Mr Toh could bathe and change then headed out at 11pm plus…I definitely remember seeing the last train was at 12:38am but when we reached Punggol MRT at 11:30pm, the last train had just left………. =(

So…no choice, we had to take a cab but we were starving so we decided to have some food at Upper Serangoon Rd before heading on to Plaza Sing and we were just in time for the movie.

It’s been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons.

I loved this sequel, it as good as the first one! The movie was really enjoyable and as witty as ever. Really loved how cute Toothless is, very well animated~ I’d recommend this movie to everyone!

Boss brought us out for lunch last Tues (03/06) at Poulet and we even saw Vincent Ng 翁清海 walking past us! He smiled and nodded at me when he caught me staring at him. Hahaha. Couldn’t help it. He’s so handsome, doesn’t look a day over 30 even though he’s 38! *sigh*

My poulet roti….a bit too much for me when we ordered so many side dishes and desserts. T_T

I forgot what this is called but it’s vanilla ice cream kiapped in a puff. The puff was horrible but the ice cream was ok.

Super duper full after this meal.

Asked Mr Toh to bring me back to 126 dim sum at Serangoon Road after Maleficent last Friday and we had a feast! But it was really too much for the 2 of us. =X

Braised pork bun. Goodness, this was lousy. Meat was tough and the bun was too thick!

Banana and mango roll I think. Was nice and crispy when hot.

Mr Toh bought so many dumplings for the Dragon Boat Festival..almost 30! I was eating dumplings almost every day for the past 1-2 weeks. Luckily we had neighbours and Mr Toh’s colleagues to help us eat..lol.

Going to JB next Sat to attend Gill’s wedding. So excited! My first time attending a weeding in JB. Hahaha. Mr Toh’s accompanying me too. Looking forward to it! Wee!
