The Expendables 2 / Total Recall / Ah Seah Teochew Porridge

I received a few gifts the previous week~~ xD

Coin pouch from Karol’s customer, so nice of her! But umm, no idea if it is authentic or not. =X

Pouch from boss Eric~~ Love the pink color~ Also no idea if authentic or not. =/

Mini Chopper figurine re gifted from Shyan who got it from someone else~ She knew I liked Chopper so she gave it to me. So sweet of her!

My OFTD on Thurs 16/08.
I finally wore my smooch skirt out last week! Paired it with LB Tazelle Tank and I think it looks OK…not really my style though. =X

Mummy had a bone marrow extraction done again on Thursday. T_T The doctors at SGH says the results TTSH gave them were too vague. Wtf. Should have just gone to SGH in the 1st place. Now this issue has been dragging on for 3 weeks already. So inefficient!
I took an hour time off to go down earlier to accompany her. Mummy mention that the extraction this time hurt less which is a always a good thing. Now we just have to wait for results to be out, hopefully it’ll be soon.

On Friday, there was a problem with the NEL resulting in me *almost* being late for work. T_T Stupid train was really hot and stuffy too. Wonder where’s all our money going when there are so many problems with the trains.

After visiting Mummy on Friday, my sis’s bf came to fetch us as the NEL was still having problems. At night! 10pm plus! STILL having problems. WTF. Lousy max.

Anyway, we went for supper at Ah Seah Teochew Porridge at their recommendation that it was cheap and good. Indeed it was! Very affordable and value for money~~ They sent us to Nex after that as we were catching The Expendables 2! We missed a bit of the beginning though. T_T

The Expendables are reunited when Mr. Church enlists them to take on a seemingly simple job. When things go wrong, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory, where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time – five tons of weapons-grade plutonium, more than enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary they seek revenge from.

The movie was pretty good and their dialogue was really funny~! I love how they poke fun at themselves. Hehe. The cast was really awesome too! Love love love Jason Statham!

On Saturday 16/08, we went to Balestier area to continue our search for the kitchen sink. The previous one we chose was too big. T_T So we had to search for a smaller one. We went to a few places, Asia Excel at 292 Balestier but it was closed for reno. T_T Then we headed to Sim Siang Choon at 551 Balestier Road where we saw a suitable one. Headed back to Poh Joo after that to make comparisons then we decided to get the one from Sim Siang Choon. By then, it was quite late already so we decided to paint our flat only on Sunday.

Headed down to visit Mummy where we had a sandwich at O’Briens as we were hungry. The sandwich was pretty good, a little pricey though at S$9.90 for this.
Ice latte and Americano. Caffeine rush!

On Sunday, we had our brunch at Ah Seah again before running our errands!

All these for S$11.70. Cheaper than the one at Simon Rd!

Love the cabbage and the minced meat! Mr Toh liked their sesame chicken as it tastes similar to the ones his grandma used to cook. =)

We then headed back to Sim Siang Choon to buy the sink and tap. Initially we wanted to carry the items back ourselves but end up we had to self collect at their Changi warehouse! They do offer free delivery if you buy 2 items or more but we couldn’t afford to wait for them to deliver as our contractor was doing the cabinets today! So we cabbed there to collect and cabbed back to Punggol.

Mr Toh then proceeded to paint the kitchen ceiling and paint a 2nd coat for the MBR ceiling while I taped the 2nd bedroom. I ran out of newspaper halfway. T_T But I innovated and used the plastic bag & bubble wrap I found in our living room! And this is what it looked like when I finished.

Smart right?! Got bonus bubble wrap to pop somemore! LOL!!

We caught Total Recall at Nex after visiting Mummy~

For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid, even though he’s got a beautiful wife who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man as he finds himself on the run from the police.

Mr Toh has been wanting to catch this movie since we caught the trailer and luckily we managed to catch it before it goes off screen. I loved the storyline, I find it really interesting.
Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous as usual but she’s really irritating in this movie! Like a cockroach that never dies. Tsk. Colin Farrell is hot as usual too. As expected, it is a happy ending. Wee! I love happy endings. =X Pretty good show.

So yesterday, we went back home to continue painting! I completed the 2nd coat for the MBR and thank goodness the paint looked alright because the 1st coat was so patchy and streaky. =/ Felt quite accomplished though, because we completed 1 room! Like finally. =X I also taped the study room and Mr Toh completed painting the ceilings for both the study room and the 2nd bedroom. Poor thing is suffering from sore arms, shoulder and neck now. And I have a big patch of blue black on my left leg because while painting the MBR, I tripped and fell, knocking my leg & even my ear against the ladder in the process. T_T Damn suay.

Luckily our 2 bedrooms are small but I’m not excited about painting the living room. It’s so big compared to the rooms. =X But on the other hand, I cannot wait to complete the whole house!

So many things to look forward to for the rest of the year.

Wish mummy will get well soon x 1000 so she can go home and we can go to Bangkok together. Mummy jiayou!
