Bits of preparation for our new home~

Posted on: August 13, 2012

So, Mummy will be transferred to SGH today! As I type, Mr Toh is at TTSH now with Mummy and waiting for the transfer.

Last Sat, this was our master bedroom before painting the wall. We went to prepare the room by taping the floor and protecting them with newspapers.

And this Saturday on 11/08, we painted the MBR!

The color we chose, a very yummy looking color called grape sherbet! I thought it looked like yam ice cream and I was craving for ice cream the whole time. T_T

After a few hours hard work!

The color turned out darker than what we expected but still very nice!

On the same day, the contractor for the kitchen cabinets started work too. The uncle was already there when we reached and he did the base for both sides.

Our view! So pretty with the lights along the river! But a lot of construction going on.

We brought clothes to shower after painting! We locked the gate and main door because we have no bathroom doors yet. HAHAHAH!

While waiting for a cab to TTSH. Finally coaxed a smile from him. xD

After leaving TTSH, we went for our movie at Nex. We had bought the tickets earlier with the movie vouchers we bought previously~

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy.

The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.

For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

The starting of the show was quite boring..because I was so tired, I kept dozing off. But I was startled awake after a particular scene and remained awake after that! LOL! I really love Jeremy Renner in this movie, he was very convincing in the fighting scenes. Mr Toh also thought he made a great spy. Not a big fan of the Bourne movies, but Jeremy Renner may convert me. =P Was so tired after reaching home I could barely keep my eyes open.

On Sunday, we woke up later and we headed to Poh Joo @ 389 Jalan Besar to choose our kitchen sink and accessories! We were served by a guy called Ah Wei. Turns out we were kinda the first deal he closed because he’s usually out delivering cargoes but he was in yesterday to learn how to serve customers. Lol….he was pretty friendly and patient.

What caught Mr Toh’s eyes.

But we were just informed today that this won’t work for our kitchen. =/ Now we have to choose again.

Mr Toh had his eye on this tap because he thinks it’s professional looking. LOL.

And I had my eye on this, because it’s so cute!

We decided to change the sink and counter top in the master bedroom because it’s too ugly. =X

Mr Toh originally wanted another sink but I thought it was a tad too big and I chose this smaller one that is also similar.

The tap we chose, I LOVE this!! =X

Every small detail count, we even have to choose the faucet pop up, the thing in the middle of the sink.

I never even thought of this before. O.o But we end up choosing the small one because it looks nicer. =X

Also chose the toilet paper holder and towel rack for our master bedroom.
Just something simple.

We spent around S$600 there. O.o Seriously, being an adult and getting your own house isn’t much fun when everything’s so expensive. =(

Anyway, we had our lunch at Lavender Food Square which was opposite Poh Joo. Mr Toh remembered his friend recommending the wanton mee and we saw a long queue, so being Singaporeans, we have to try this! =D

Queue was moving a tad slow but still bearable. We got our food after about 10 mins or so.

We ordered the wanton noodles and added a side of fried wantons.

The noodles were quite expensive IMO, $4 for a small plate, $5 for the big plate and S$5.50 for the fried wantons. I liked the sauce of the noodles and the fried wantons were big and juicy but a tad salty after eating a few. Overall, I think it’s not really worth the price.

Kok Kee Wan Ton Noodle
Address: 380 Jalan Besar, #01-06 Lavender Food Square.

We also ordered xiao long baos~ $5.50 for this too.

I thought the skin was quite nicely done as it wasn’t too thick. But it wasn’t very nice….the meat didn’t have much flavor.

We headed to TTSH after that to visit Mummy as is our routine for the past 2 weeks.

After that, we went to Dad’s house to help send Dad, Auntie and Hongyi to the airport as they were going to China to visit Auntie’s family. The check in time was 12:30am.

But when we reached the airport, we realised that the flight was delayed from 0235 to 0410 hrs! @.@

Mr Toh said they will still open the counter at 12:30am so we queued first. Luckily we did…because when the counter opened at around 12am, there was a loooong queue.

While queuing, I helped Hongyi wear his jacket and put his hood up. So cute! But naughty boy didn’t want to wear it so we took it out after a short while.

We had McD for supper after checking in the bags. Hongyi was busy playing with Auntie’s HP after drinking his milk.

He loves this app that has a talking animal. Can choose what animal you want and he was busy swiping his fingers across the screen, then busy ‘talking’ to the dog he chose. His talking was more like making sounds like ‘Hahaha!’, ‘HO!’ etc. LOL!! Sooooo cuteeee lah!!

Gonna visit Mummy later after work, luckily SGH is near my office. We had to break a bad news to Mummy yesterday….she seemed so angry and so sad afterwards that I felt like crying.. =( But I hope she’s feeling better today and I hope nothing serious will happen…
